THOMAS BLAIR

LEAD PASTOR

From Cincinnati area, married to high school sweetheart Terry. Typical of the 60’s, a musician’s life led to serious drug & life style issues. He returned to God & went to Bible College at Southeastern in Lakeland Fla. Pastor has been in Ministry for 32 yrs & at First Assembly for 21 yrs.

Family: Wife Terry, Son Andy,(Katie) Pastors in Savannah Georgia. Son Corey (Kristen) Pastors in Atlanta Georgia. Daughter Kelly (Adam) Dental Hygienists in Columbus Ohio. 4 grandsons, known as “The Wolfpack” Jagger, Tek, Cash & Slade.

Hobbies: Accomplished jazz musician playing saxes, & flute. Officer in the local musician union, playing about 30 gigs a year. Personal highlights were setting in with the Stan Kenton Orchestra & performing a piece with Maynard Ferguson.

Pets: Two Maltese puppies, “The Grand-Dogs”.

Terry Blair

Credentialed Pastor

From the suburbs of Cincinnati, Ohio. Coming from a non-church home, she found The Lord at the age of 13 in the back hills of Kentucky. She never thought her life would be lead to a life in ministry.

Family: Yes, She has one... (see Pastor Blair’s, they’ve been married 40 yrs, so you'll find her there!

Work: Although she works as the Children's Pastor and various other things at the church, she works full time at Mansfield Sr. High School as an Interpreter for the Deaf. She is a license Pastor, Licensed Interpreter and has BBA in Business Administration from Mt Vernon University.

Hobbies: She loves genealogy research, scrap booking, and her grandkids

Pets: There is almost nothing more dear to Terry on this Earth than her two Maltese dogs. They are her babies!

TERRY GARRETT

ASSOCIATE PASTOR

Pastor Terry was in full time Youth Ministry at Mansfield First Assembly since 2005 after leaving his former career as a corrections officer at the local County Jail. He has served in some capacity in this youth ministry for over 15 years. He has recently transitioned into the role of Associate Pastor. “PT” has a passion to impact others, and challenge them to become great men and women of God.

Family: married in 2002 to Meagan, With 3 children.

Hobbies- Working out, Softball, Golf, Grilling, Playing with his children. Plus Size Modeling

Music: Hillsong United, Rock, Rap, 80’s Hair Bands.

Restaurant: Any place that doesn’t mess up steak!

Pets: A VERY MANLY Standard Poodle named Titus.

JOEL HEADLEY

YOUTH PASTOR

Joel is a graduate of Lee University, Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary, and Harvest Mission School. He enjoyed three years of serving on Youth Staff before becoming the Youth Pastor. He desires to see students transformed for the Glory of God!

Family: Joel has been married to his wife Hannah since 2010. Immediate family lives in Georgia: Mom, Dad, and brother; but Joel now has lots of Ohio family members!

Hobbies: Exercise, eating right, reading, playing drums & guitar, walking, thinking, traveling, & occasionally cliff jumping.

Pets: Joel's wife has asked him about getting a dog for years, but Joel has pet commitment issues.

I've worked for 1st Assembly of God Mansfield for over 21 years. I enjoy serving God, my Pastors, and my church family. The only things I refuse to do are lead worship and preach.

LIBBY BRADSHAW

ADMINISTRATVE DIRECTOR

I was blessed with my job here in December 2011. I learn something new about life, my job, people, and God every day. I was married here in our church, my babies are taken care of here, and this building is filled with people that may not be related to me by blood, but are some of my closest family. Some days are crazy, but we have a Keurig and I have a tall mug so it all works out.

Family: Husband James, daughters Brooke, Kate, and Payton. One son, Crue

Hobbies: Organizing my house, watching movies, concerts, browsing Pinterest but never actually doing any of the pins.

Music: I like a little bit of everything....Hillsong, NKOTB, Taylor Swift (I met her once, true story!)

Pets: We have a cat with anger management issues named Sunny, and a foster cat named Tomlin

MELISSA JONES

WORSHIP DIRECTOR

I've attended Mansfield First Assembly since I was 3 years old. It has always been my home and considered to be my place of refuge. I have served in many areas of ministry over the years and worship is where my heart is. In the presence of the Lord is where I most want to be.

Family: I married my high school sweetheart, Wes, and we have 5 children: Alex, Scott, Victoria, Noah, and Madelynn.

Other Interests: I have attended The Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City, and received my certification for Holistic Health Coaching. I have a passion for cooking, and love making healthy food that tastes amazing.

DEEDRA SHILLIDAY

CONNECTIONS AND DISCIPLESHIP DIRECTOR

Deedra grew up around the Canton area. She accepted Christ as a young child through a bus ministry that ministered in the inner city. She has served as a Children’s, Discipleship, Mission’s, and Leadership Development Pastor at various A/G churches while obtaining graduate degrees in Counseling and Practical Theology. One of her favorite ministry opportunities was serving as the Assistant Psychology Professor at Trinity Bible College in North Dakota.

Family: Steve has been her biggest fan for over 22 years. They have four children: Madison, 19; Steven, 18; Parker, 16; and Aiden, 10.

Hobbies: writing and scrapbooking

Pets: a golden retriever, Tucker, who should have been named Doug after the dog from Up.

Family: My husband, Gary and I have been married for 23 years, together we have an amazing daughter Shelbi who recently got married to Nate and we have a son Keaton who will be leaving for basic training very soon.

HEATHER MURRAY

CHILDCARE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

I have been attending this church since I was born and started working at the child care center when I was seventeen (which was twenty years ago).

Family:In May 2012 I got married to my wonderful husband Dan Murray. We currently live in Willard.

Hobbies:I like to go to the movies, listen to music, hang out with friends and family, and help with drama and the fine arts.

Music: I am very versatile when it comes to the music I enjoy. I like everything such as big band, ‘80’s, country, and of course Christian. But my favorite artist of all time is Bing Crosby.

Restaurant: Red Lobster or Joe’s Crab Shack but of course I love to eat so anywhere is a good place to eat.

Pets: Where I am currently living does not allow dogs so my Shih Tzu Noel lives with my parents.

SHELLY REFFEL

CUSTODIAN

Shelly has worked as the head custodian at Mansfield First for 20 years. When asked why she has worked at Mansfield First for so long she said “I can be around the things of God and spend time in his presence anytime I want or need to.”

Family: Shelly Reffel, 57, from Bellville and her husband Al Reffel, 57, also from Bellville, have been attending Mansfield First Assembly together for 35 years.

Together they have three children Jennifer, 31; Matthew, 29; and Breanna, 22. They also have a son-in-law Philip Howe, 31, who lead worship here for a few months. The newest additions to the family are Shelly and Al’s daughter-in-law Sarah Reffel, 29, and Maverick Howe their first grandson.

Hobbies: baking and traveling when she can.
